Background Edit

The little Old Woman from the Shoe Inn is a character from the nursery rhyme "There Was An Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe"[1], often included in Mother Goose collections.

In The Land of Stories series, the shoe she lives in is an actual inn, and she runs it with Queen Red Riding Hood's grandmother, Granny. She appears in The Enchantress Returns, ch 15, and helps Granny sew the hot air balloon for the HMS Granny. In A Grimm Warning, she is part of the Kingdom's representatives in the House of Progress. In Beyond the Kingdoms, she attends Red and Froggy's (almost) wedding.

Appearance and Personality Edit

"They both had grey hair wrapped into tight buns on the top of their heads and reading glasses placed on the tips of their noses. The Little Old Woman walked with a cane."

She is described as "a little hard of hearing and a little hard of seeing" on the account of having more than 200 grandchildren.[2]

Quotes Edit

"Granny spoke directly into her ear. "I was telling Red that we're happy to be out of the Shoe Inn. -"WHO'S DEAD?!" The Little Old Woman asked. "Not dead- Red, my granddaughter," Granny said. -"YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER IS DEAD?!" The Little Old Woman said, aghast."[3]

"Who's a tart?" The Little Old Woman asked.[4]
