Philippe Baton was a French military officer of the Grande Armée, who served in General Marquis' battalion. from The Land of Stories series. He first appeared in the Prologue of A Grimm Warning, serving as one of the secondary antagonists (alongside Lieutenant Rembert, Capitaine De Lange, and Bo Peep) in A Grimm Warning. He was part of the French . His superior commander was General Jaques du Marquis.
Appearance and Personality[]
Philippe Baton is decribed as a tall and muscular man with an authoritative pose and an unfriendly scowl. He has a thick accent.[1]
He follows his orders dutifully, and is well-aware of his superior's ruthless methods (but nonetheless does not question him).
Once through the portal, he joins General Marquis on his quest to Pinocchio Prison and the Snow Queen, and is part of the attack on the Charming Kingdom, in which a large part of the Grande Armée is defeated. General Marquis blames him and Capitaine De Lange for this defeat, and mercilessly shoots them both in the foot, causing them to fall into the pit where the dragon is being hatched. They are eaten alive.[2]
