NPC-Male-3

Background Edit

Hansel is the well-known character from the fairy tale Hansel & Gretel, first recorded by the Brothers Grimm, about a boy and a girl who stumble upon a gingerbread house and are captured by the witch who lives there. The witch tries to eat Hansel, but Gretel saves him and they manage to escape.

A Grimm Warning takes place long after Hansel and Gretel's escape from the witch; Gretel is a grown woman and is imprisoned in Pinocchio Prison for killing her brother Hansel. Hansel does not appear in the book, but is mentioned in chapter 17.

Appearance and Personality Edit

Hansel is described as a young man who enjoyed attention and admiration, caring only about himself. According to Gretel, he used their story (and her) to celebrate himself as a hero, taking credit for killing the witch and reaping awards from the adoring public. This made Gretel feel reduced to "half of" Hansel and Gretel, and she pushed him, accidentally causing him to fall off a cliff.[1]
